Kharynton Allen
Communications Specialist
Originally born in Houston, Texas, I call St. Louis, Missouri home. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Media Studies from Jackson State University, I am now back home in St. Louis.
Throughout college, I stayed busy being a staff writer for JSU's publication, The Blue and White Flash as well as a producer for Tiger Report, a student led newscast. I served as Honors Council Chair of Social Media and Public Relations and completed internships at STL TV and the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education.
To kick off my career journey, I started off as a News Producer for WJTV 12 in Jackson, MS. I have also began working as a Website Designer, Content Creator, and Social Media Manager for various small, black owned businesses including: The Learning Continues Enrichment Center, Principalchick Mentoring and Consulting Firm, and Planning Policy & Development.
I am currently a Communications Specialist for The School District of University City. Though employed full time, I am continuously seeking opportunities that offer mentorship and growth in my interests. I am young, eager, and ready to shine my light on the world.
